EMILIA ROMAGNA

Emilia Romagna is a North Italian region. Bologna is the capital city. Rimini, Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna, Ferrara, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma, and Piacenza are the other main cities. The GDP in this region is very high. Therefore, it is one of the wealthiest regions in Italy. The terrain ranges from mountains and hills to flat plains. Agriculture is a large part of the rich economy and is one of the best places for gastronomy and wine-making. For instance, egg pastas and meats from this region are famous around Italy and the world. Bologna features mortadella while Parma is known for its prosciutto. The world-wide company Eataly has a special permanent fair called FICO Eataly World. The large exhibition space shows the specialties of each region through markets and restaurants. In addition, specialties apart from food have come from Emilia Romagna. Famous composers, folk and rock artists have come from this region.
