CAMPANIA

Campania is a region in South Italy. It borders Lazio, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, and the Mediterranean Sea. Naples is the capital. The city’s pizza is famous all over the world. Salerno, Benevento, Avellino and Caserta are the other main cities. Also, cities like Herculaneum and Pompeii are full of ancient architecture and history. The famous city of Pompeii attracts between 2 and 3 million people every year. The economy relies a lot on tourism because it has some of Italy’s best places. The Amalfi Coast and island of Capri are main tourist destinations. Both are situated in Campania. This region is quite special because of the coast, history, art, and cuisine. Many dishes involve seafood because access to the sea is easy. A few examples are squid and potatoes or fried/boiled mixed seafoods. Mount Vesuvius is an important feature of the region also.
